Desprez à Fleur Jaune

This rose is unique in that it attracts fireflies. No one knows what they find compelling about this particular variety, but wherever it is planted they hover nearby. While the flowers are open by day, the fireflies sleep in their centers. As night falls, the flowers close slightly, the insects awaken, and they light the buff-colored blooms from within, like luminous jewels.
